End the ‘Widow Penalty’
Yet another reason to reform immigration law: Immigrants married to U.S. citizens are deported if their spouse dies before the green card paperwork is processed. This ends in a double bereavement for the parents, the loss of a child and child-in-law. (N.Y. Times)
